THE PROGRAM
01

The McLaren program — track-package PPF as the default.

A McLaren is a track-package car whether or not it ever sees a road course. The carbon tub, the aerodynamic surfaces, and the paint chemistry are all engineered for a use case that punishes thin PPF coverage. We default to full-body XPEL Ultimate Plus on every 720s, 765LT, and Artura coming through the bay, with rocker and rear-arch extensions for cars that see Pacific Raceway or The Ridge. Front-end-only is the exception, not the rule.

02

McLaren paint codes and the correction discipline they require.

McLaren’s factory paint system runs thinner than most German luxury equivalents and shows holograms and buffer trails on Volcano Orange, Tarocco Orange, Vermillion Red, and McLaren Orange faster than other reds and oranges. We run three-stage correction on every McLaren above intermediate-condition surface, finished under sun-gun lighting before any film or ceramic touches the panel. MSO (McLaren Special Operations) custom colours get the same treatment with the colour-code reference documented at intake.

03

After the track day — cosmetic repair without carriers.

The McLaren 720s rear-quarter rebuild documented in the S/04 Cosmetic Repair program is the work most carriers won’t quote on a McLaren — full-panel paint blend on the chassis carbon, structural straightening on the aluminium underpinnings, and re-fitment of OEM aero pieces against factory tolerance. Direct-pay only. We do not work with insurance carriers, on McLaren or anything else.

04

GT cars and MSO — when factory PPF isn’t enough.

McLaren GT, 600LT, and MSO-spec cars often arrive with manufacturer PPF that was specced for the dealer, not the owner — partial coverage, no edge wrap, or film tier that doesn’t match the colour. We re-spec the program at intake, peel and replace where the existing film won’t meet our edge-wrap discipline, and document the install for the manufacturer warranty re-registration in the owner’s name.

FAQ

Common questions. On McLaren.

Q/01Do you work on McLaren GT cars (765LT, P1, Senna)?
Yes — 720s and 765LT are the most-frequent McLaren in our bay; we’ve also worked on 600LT, GT, Artura, and select P1 / Senna programs by appointment. The track-package PPF tier is the default on any GT-spec car; full-body is the recommendation on collector-spec cars that don’t see daily street use.
Q/02Can you do cosmetic repair on a McLaren after a track-day off?
Yes. The 720s rear-quarter rebuild in our S/04 case file is exactly this scenario. We scope the work in writing after an in-bay assessment, quote a full timeline, and run the work direct-pay without involving an insurance carrier or the manufacturer’s collision network. Carbon tub damage routes to a separate certified shop in our network — we handle the cosmetic and panel-level work.
Q/03PPF for MSO custom paint codes?
Yes. We document the MSO colour reference at intake, match film tier to the finish (gloss, satin, or matte where applicable), and register the install with the manufacturer for the 10-year warranty. MSO chrome-delete film, badge film, and accent panel work is also available.
Q/04How long does paint protection film last?
Professionally installed Ultrafit paint protection film carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty against yellowing, cracking, and delamination. In Pacific Northwest conditions, the film typically performs well past the warranty window if washed correctly and not exposed to chemical contamination.
Q/05How much does PPF cost in Seattle?
Full-body PPF on a luxury or exotic vehicle at PACMods starts at the upper end of the Seattle market because we work exclusively with concours-grade Ultrafit film and back every install with a 10-year warranty. Partial coverage (front-end, track package, or high-impact areas) starts lower. Request a private estimate for a vehicle-specific quote.
Q/06What paint protection film do you install?
PACMods installs Ultrafit — a top-tier self-healing paint protection film with a 10-year warranty. It is optically clear, hydrophobic, and swirl-resistant; we select the coverage tier and finish (gloss or matte) per vehicle and intended use, from daily-driven streets to dedicated track time.
Q/07How do I pay, and do you take a deposit?
We accept credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. Payment is due on completion, before the vehicle leaves, unless the written quote says otherwise. A deposit may be required where the build needs parts we order in and those parts come to more than $500 — it covers the order, and it is set out on the written quote before any work starts. We do not bill insurance carriers, so the number on your written quote is the number you pay.
Q/08Do you work with insurance companies?
PACMods is an independent shop by intention and does not work with insurance carriers. We perform cosmetic and collision repair on a direct-pay basis for owners who want concours-quality work without the carrier-driven shortcuts that compromise luxury vehicles. We can help you understand what an insurance reimbursement might cover, but the work itself is between you and us.
