Q/01How long does paint protection film last?+
Professionally installed Ultrafit paint protection film carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty against yellowing, cracking, and delamination. In Pacific Northwest conditions, the film typically performs well past the warranty window if washed correctly and not exposed to chemical contamination.
Q/02How much does PPF cost in Seattle?+
Full-body PPF on a luxury or exotic vehicle at PACMods starts at the upper end of the Seattle market because we work exclusively with concours-grade Ultrafit film and back every install with a 10-year warranty. Partial coverage (front-end, track package, or high-impact areas) starts lower. Request a private estimate for a vehicle-specific quote.
Q/03What paint protection film do you install?+
PACMods installs Ultrafit — a top-tier self-healing paint protection film with a 10-year warranty. It is optically clear, hydrophobic, and swirl-resistant; we select the coverage tier and finish (gloss or matte) per vehicle and intended use, from daily-driven streets to dedicated track time.
Q/04How do I pay, and do you take a deposit?+
We accept credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. Payment is due on completion, before the vehicle leaves, unless the written quote says otherwise. A deposit may be required where the build needs parts we order in and those parts come to more than $500 — it covers the order, and it is set out on the written quote before any work starts. We do not bill insurance carriers, so the number on your written quote is the number you pay.
Q/05Do you work with insurance companies?+
PACMods is an independent shop by intention and does not work with insurance carriers. We perform cosmetic and collision repair on a direct-pay basis for owners who want concours-quality work without the carrier-driven shortcuts that compromise luxury vehicles. We can help you understand what an insurance reimbursement might cover, but the work itself is between you and us.
Q/06Is headlight tint legal in Washington?+
Washington state law restricts how dark headlights can be tinted and prohibits any treatment that reduces light output below DOT-mandated thresholds. PACMods installs Washington-compliant headlight film that preserves output while delivering the smoked appearance owners are looking for.
Q/07How dark can window tint be in Washington?+
Washington state allows 24% VLT (visible light transmission) on the front side windows and any darkness on the rear side and back windows for passenger vehicles. The front windshield permits a non-reflective strip down to the AS-1 line. PACMods installs to spec and provides documentation.
Q/08What is concours-level detailing?+
Concours-level detailing is the standard used to prepare a vehicle for elite show judging: multi-stage paint correction with no holograms or buffer trails, leather and trim restoration to factory condition, engine bay decontamination, and final ceramic protection. PACMods works to this standard on every car, not just show entries.
Q/09How long does paint correction take?+
Single-stage paint correction typically takes 1–2 days. Multi-stage correction (two or three stages) on a luxury or exotic vehicle takes 2–5 days depending on paint condition, color, and the level of finish required. Every correction at PACMods includes a final inspection under multiple light sources.
